Welcome back!

Crocheted Neckpiece
This is a new piece of art. It is a combination of yarn, Italian glass Murano beads and colored wire and made to be reversable for showing the wire work or–not. The yarn is textured and a variety of colors-tangerine,
red and hot pink.
I added small rounds worked in red, orange and hot pink wire. Red glass beads attached with red wire spirals surround the edge of the neckpiece. It is beautiful worn against a solid background or with a bare necked bandeau.

The Other Side
I submitted my leather handbag to a “Wearables” contest sponsored by the Creative Home Arts Club. Imagine how thrilled and surprised I was to be notified that I was the 3rd place winner! This is a special membership club and they have a website and official publication called “Today’s Creative homearts. So for all you crafters have a look at the website creativehomearts.com or the September/October 2008 issue if you are already a member.

Interesting painted image with wirework

Reverse side with decorated dot pattern
Someone asked me to show a closeup of the finished dominos in my Domino Necklace. Please remember that there are two sides to a Domino. The side with the traditional dots and the Blank Side I decorate both so the necklace can be work two ways.
About a year ago, I, for some unknown reason , purchased a box of vintage dominoes. In the back of my head was a plan to develop them into some sort of jewelry. Out of this thought came the necklaces pictured here. I used unmounted rubber stamps to create an image on both sides of the domino. The coloring was done using a combination of chalk, colored Sharpie pens, watercolor pencils, alcohol inks, craft paints, and Pearl Ex powders. A side hole was drilled into the top of the domino for stringing either leather cord or dyed silk cords.

DOMINO NECKLACE

Mermaid art on front smooth surface of Domino
Dominos present surfaces that can be decorated in a variety of ways and with a variety of materials. Your imagination is the key to creativity. The pendants can be side drilled and turned into necklaces, bracelets, pins or whatever you choose.
